Appreciation of the natural (anything not consciously meditated or preconceived (not restricted to petunias, cows, birds or sunsets)) stands as the inverse to the appreciation of all things cultivated. Its appreciation is immediate, unconscious and, is in many ways dictated by the subject as opposed to the object – It’s not so much about the aesthetic qualities of an object that result in us perceiving beauty but rather the – aestheticized (enlightened if you’re that way inclined) - state of the perceiver that dictates what is read as the beautiful.
To appreciate the natural we have to aestheticize ourselves.

pinna disagree
beauty isn’t sudden
beauty takes time
periods of transition ;
the day’s descent into
sunset ;
when one becomes it’s other
(now that’s beautiful)
fade in fade out
birth and death
birds and the flies
that’s
the point where meaning is
a destination to the
aesthetic journey
